Analysis of the current situation in China's food machinery industry

China is a country with a large population and a strong agricultural base, so the development of the food industry directly affects the lives of every one of us. Food machinery, which provides equipment for post-processing, shaping, packaging, and other related industries, has been developing rapidly in China and faces an enormous market demand.

The food industry is a pillar sector of China's national economy. The food machinery industry provides equipment for the food industry and began in the early 1950s after the founding of the People's Republic of China. However, it was mainly during the reform and opening-up period starting in the 1980s that the industry grew from scratch—gradually evolving from nothing to something, from small to large, from weak to strong, and from low-level to high-level. Over the past 60 years, it has experienced a glorious developmental journey. Particularly during the Eighth Five-Year Plan (Eighth Five-Year Period), the Ministry of Machinery Industry proposed six major development trends for the industry and focused on developing six types of complete sets of equipment. During these five years, the industry accumulated a total investment of 1 billion yuan in technological transformation projects. In the mid-1980s, the establishment of the China Packaging and Food Machinery Industry Association and the China Packaging and Food Machinery Corporation strengthened industry management and expanded international exchanges. Every year, they organize the China International Exhibition for Food Processing and Packaging Machinery, attracting exhibitors from various countries, enhancing domestic and international technical cooperation, promoting new product development, and about 75% of existing products have been developed in the last decade.

After entering the 21st century, along with the improvement in people's living standards, the demand for greater variety and higher quality in food has steadily increased, providing broad development opportunities for the food machinery industry.

Looking ahead, the food industry will continue to grow. As people's living standards rise, more attention is being paid to food safety. Therefore, the food machinery industry holds significant market potential, but it also faces numerous challenges.
